Black Entrepreneurs of the 18th and 19th century

Teacher Resources

Following are resources related to the themes of the Black Entrepreneurs of the Eighteenth and Nineteenth Centuries exhibit.

Scavenger Hunt Activity

This scavenger hunt activity is used by the Bank's economic educators as a tool for helping large groups explore Black Entrepreneurs. Groups are divided in two, each embarking on a different "route" that encourages close examination of selected images, artifacts, and narratives in the exhibit. These focused explorations highlight and help visitors absorb the exhibit's major themes.

Two versions of the scavenger hunt are available: one for high school students, and one for middle school students. Worksheets are in PDF format.
